Nikolaos Tselios

Nikolaos Tselios is a Professor in the Department of Educational Sciences and Early Childhood Education at the University of Patras and a Consulting Professor (and Course Coordinator) at the Hellenic Open University. In addition, from 2009 until 2013 he taught Human Computer Interaction in the joint postgraduate program offered by the Athens Technological Educational Institute and the University of Limoges. He holds a PhD (2002) in Usability Engineering of Educational Software and a Diploma (1997) from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, University of Patras, Greece.
His main research interests are Educational Technology, Human Computer Interaction, user interface design and evaluation of educational software, usability evaluation methodologies, e-learning, user/student modelling, social media in education, information foraging theory and intelligent user interfaces.
He has over 115 publications in international and national journals and conferences and 2 patents (among which 37 are papers published in international journals with 32/37 being indexed in Web of Science and 35/37 being indexed in Scopus and 3 additional papers are published in national journals), with at least 3810 known citations (including cites to edited volumes) and h-index=28, g-index=56, i-10 index=53, m-index=1.25. He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, ACM SIGCHI, Greek Artificial Intelligence Organization and Greek society of ICT in Education.
Distinctions/Awards
1. In 2015, he received ( with Dimitris Raptis and Nikolaos Avouris) the most influential paper award from MobileHCI 2005 (i.e. most cited paper).
2. In November 2018 he has been ranked as the first Associate Professor across all 19 Greek Education Departments in terms of h-index and i-10 index (out of 101 scholars).
3. For 10 consecutive years, a paper (or papers) which he has published as a (co)author has been indexed among the most cited papers in the top publication venues indexed by Google Scholar Metrics (Fields: Educational Technology and Human Computer Interaction).
4. In December 2017, he has been ranked as the first Assistant Professor across all 19 Greek Education Departments in terms of h-index.
5. In February 2018 he became the first Assistant Professor in the history of Greek Education Departments with h-index=20.
6. In December 2010, he has been ranked as the first lecturer across all 19 Greek Education Departments in terms of h-index and citations.
